Thanks to your generosity, we helped thousands of families in 2024:

86,101 patients treated in our clinics: 83% of patients are women & children

150 pregnancies & healthy babies supported in our Birthing Centers

Established primary home-school programs for hundreds of boys and girls

Granted scholarships for women pursuing midwifery

Delivered $58,000 in emergency food relief to over 830 families

 

International aid to Afghanistan is at an all-time-low. With President Trump’s recent suspension of aid, roughly ~50 NGOs have had to suspend operations in Afghanistan this year alone. As a result, AWAKEN continues to see increased demand for our services as we are the only provider of essential medical care, education, and emergency relief in the region that we operate.

With tremendous support from all of you, we have been able to rise to the challenge of increased need over the past few years, but we have been stretching our resources to the limit. Without additional funding, we face the heartbreaking possibility of scaling back life-saving programs in the next year.

Your support at this year’s 23rd Annual Fundraising Dinner is critical to ensure that we do not leave any woman or child behind in Afghanistan. Donations of any size can help to make a huge difference. As always, 98% of all donations go directly to our programs and services.
